Succulent Bonsai

originally designed, and entirely hand stitched, textile, soft-sculpture succulent bonsai tree.

each succulent is made from a vintage green cotton, and is intricately embroidered on the underside of each leaf. the trunk of the bonsai is made using layers of wire and stitched linen, in a soft shade of variegated brown, to create the realistic and solid look and feel of a tree trunk and roots. i've used a striped navy, cream, and brown linen to detail the twisted trunk, along with embroidery. each succulent is attached to the trunk with thread wrapped wire, and can be gently moved in various configurations. delicate 'roots' extend from the succulent stems.

planted, in antique linen, in a lovely dark gray planter. finished with bits of moss and includes pebbles, which can be placed around the base of the tree, in various configurations, if desired.

measures around 10.5" tall by roughly 8" across the widest point (the planter measures about 5" wide, across the top)
